Anantara has announced the dates for the 2011 King’s Cup Elephant Polo Tournament – the competition’s 10^th anniversary year.

The tournament will be moving to the seaside town of Hua Hin and will take place from September 5 – 11. The competition was introduced to Thailand in 2001 by Anantara Resorts and is a charitable event that raises money for the country’s elephants.

The week-long event will feature 12 teams from four continents, showcasing the talents of 40 players from at least 15 countries.

To date the tournament has raised over $300,000, primarily for the National Elephant Institute.
