Candy Spelling’s massive 57,000 square-foot home has finally
been sold to Formula One heiress, 22-year-old Petra Ecclestone. The sale marks the
end of a long, dry spell for the mansion, which had been shown since 2008 and
officially on the market since 2009.

The home, dubbed “The Manor”, was first listed at $150
million, and sits on five acres in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood. The
French chateau-style house was built by legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling
and his wife, Candy, in 1991. It boasts a staircase inspired by the iconic
stairway in “Gone with the Wind”, fourteen bedrooms and twenty-seven bathrooms.
There are also special rooms dedicated to activities as specific as gift-wrapping,
flower-cutting and storing silverware, in addition to the de rigueur bells and
whistles expected of a luxury estate: wine cellar, bowling alley, screening
room, library, and gym.

The buyer, Petra Ecclestone, is the daughter of billionaire
Bernie Ecclestone, and the future heiress of her father’s Formula One racing
empire. The Wall Street Journal reports that she plans on splitting her time
between London and Los
Angeles, in advance of her August wedding to
businessman James Stunt.
