It wasn’t all about fun and glamour for Audemars Piguet at this year’s Tonys. In addition to sponsoring the Red Carpet, Audemars Piguet partnered
up with Patagonia Sur, a for-profit venture that protects and develops ecological properties in Chilean Patagonia, to act as title sponsor for the Tonys’ eco-friendly Green
Room and Gift Lounge. Carbon footprints imposed by the Green Room and miles it took to fly the award
nominees and presenters into New York will be offset by planting trees in Chilean Patagonia, effectively adding one-acre of greenery
to the existing 14-acre Audemars Piguet Forest in the region.

AL Pacino, Alec Baldwin, Robin Williams, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Daniel Radcliffe, Whoopi Goldbert, Hugh Jackman, Kelsey Grammer, Chris Rock, Stephen Colbert, Harry Connick, Christie Brinkley, Brooke Shields, Patrick Wilson all dropped by the lounge to mingle, while Audemars Piguet held a contest whereby two watches – the men’s rose gold Jules Audemars Choronograph and rose gold Ladies’ Royal Oak – were given away. Jackman and Brinkley were the lucky winners.  

In another bid
to spunk up the Tonys’ giving spirit, Audemars Piguet teamed up with Boardway
Cares/Equity AIDS to create seven unique aluminium wall clocks. Decorated by
the nominees for Best Musical and Best Musical Revivial i.e. Catch Me If You
Can, Sister Act, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Anything Goes,
The Book of Mormon and The Scottsboro Boys, the clocks were displayed in Audemars Piguet’s
flagship boutique at 40 East 57^th Street in Manhattan before being
auctioned off at the end of June.
