The House of Martell has announced the production of a
special project, the Martell Trunk by Pinel & Pinel, a prestigious
collaboration with the French luxury malletier. Measuring a commodious 2.06m
high, 2.20m wide and 0.7m deep, the mobile trunk-case’s deep royal blue shade
is instantly recognizable as a Martell signature.

Meant to capture the essence of the premium cognac brand’s skill, quality and
commitment to craftsmanship, the Martell Trunk is the result of a thousand
man-hours of construction, assemblage and fitting by ten artisans. Only the
most precious of materials were selected—full-grain leather, copper, silver
plate, oak and crystal—to produce the leather-lined compartments and drawers,
which hold twenty-eight montres of the most unique and exclusive blends.

The trunk also provides a cigar humidor and an exhaustive
range of accessories for the cigar connoisseur: a cigar cutter, lighter, fine
matches and an ashtray in crystal and rosewood, designed to accommodate the ash
produced by a Havana, a Churchill
or Montecristo. The sensory experience is completed with the inclusion of Roi
Soleil candles from Trudon, scented to recall the freshly waxed parquet of the Palace
of Versailles. Finally, a small
blue leather-bound booklet—the Cellar Master’s notebook—contains the
handwritten tasting notes of Martell’s cellar master Benoît Fil on the Martell
collection and Exclusive Blends. Pages are left blank for the owner of the
trunk to craft his very own tasting notes.
