Held at the Pavillion Cambon Capucines in Paris, Chanel’s haute couture
collection for Spring-Summer 2011 was a refined presentation of delicate
embroidered tweed and skirts with soft, tiered draping.

The palette was pale and dreamy, with watercolor-inspired hues of ivory, pinks and blues. The predominant silhouette was graduated, with form-fitting sleeves giving way to shimmering, flowing fabric.

Quick flashes of silver leggings and sleek metallic pants provided a pleasing counterbalance to the frothy chiffon, tulle and organza.

Accessories in the form of gorgeous belts and jewelry echoed the meticulously hand-sewn buttons and sequins, rounding off a show that was all enchantment and sophisticated girlishness.
