This year, the Alfred Dunhill collection for Spring exuded a
distinctly traditional English vibe, juxtaposed with an artistic
experimentation in the bohemian detailing of the clothing. At the same time,
there was an exhilarating sense of freedom in the soft collared shirts and
V-necks in cashmere and silk.

Many key items in the collection, such as the wide lapelled
flannel blazers, were inspired reinterpretations of iconic garments worn by Bloomsbury
members, such as the economist John Maynard and art critic Roger Fry. Clashing
print inserts were incorporated into the shirting as a nod to the eclectic
spirit of the British artistic elite of that period, and shoes were hand
painted shades of grays and blues. Accessories were a similarly witty take on
tradition, with leather notepads reconfigured into iPad cases.
