Vintage watch collectors, try not to get into a tizzy: leading French auction house Artcurial has announced a special sale of the finest, most memorable Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces – from Memovox, Reverso, Duoplan, Atmos – spanning 178 years of creativity at La Grande Maison.

The undisputed highlight of the November 29 Unique Auction will be the eye-boggling Atmos 561 by Marc Newson that will be sold in aid of the Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The world’s only clock movement that runs on thin air, the Atmos was envisioned as a Baccarat crystal bubble, its translucent case imbuing it a with a futuristic elegance and catapulting it into the ranks of the modern horological world’s great designs.

The most important Memovox collection ever assembled will also go under the
hammer during the historic sale, which will feature a starry
ensemble of 40 timepieces made between 1950 and the 1970s – including
one of the very first Memovox diving watches, a 1959 Master Mariner Deep
Sea with chocolate dial; and the unforgettable 1968 Polaris with its
specially designed triple-back case.
