Jimmy Choo’s spring/summer 2011 collection is inspired by the tropical climate of Rio, its beaches, characters, carnivals and sun-bleached colours.

Tamara Mellon, OBE, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, said: “This season, I wanted to capture a nod to the 70’s and nowhere is that more potent than in Rio. The Cariocas and the urban beach scene they inhabit, the city’s energy and the cool vibe of the Fasano hotel.”

“Brazil has its own colourful sex appeal and glamorous style and it’s every facet of that which caught my imagination.”

This season’s catwalk collection is defined by three themes, the first of which, ‘Gaucho Girl,’ explores the free-spirited side of Brazil with a series of vibrant ethnic styles. In contrast, the second, ‘Atelier’, is a graphic line-up of cage sandal styles, whilst the third, ‘Chandelier’, is inspired by I-D chains and urban, rock n’ roll style.

Features of the collection include python skins, artesian detailing, voluminous platforms and sandy-coloured, suede, sandal boots.

A particular highlight of the collection is the PARKER, a 70s inspired day bag made from white leather which boasts minimal ‘hinged’ hardware and a practical front pocket.

Elsewhere you’ll find HALLEY, a cocoa brown leather and suede platform on a 145mm heel as well as ZEN, a coquettish open-toed sandal boot in light, sandy suede with a 110mm heel.
