We all know how covetable the flashy fast cars by
Mercedes-Benz are, but the German automakers’ two-wheeled offerings for 2011
are just the thing for weekend warriors yearning for a smooth ride and a good old-fashioned
workout.
The new All Mountain mountain bikes are powered by a Fox
Racing F32 RL suspension fork and a DT Swiss suspension strut, each with a
spring travel of 120 mm. Gears are shifted by a 30-speed SRAM X.9 system, and
the brakes are hydraulic AVID Elixir 5 disc brakes with a disc diameter of 185
mm. DT Swiss X1900 wheels complete the package.
Other models include the limited edition racing bike, weighing only 6.8 kg
thanks to its carbon-fiber frame. With only 100 of these hardcore beauties
slated for production, you’ll join the ranks of Formula 1 drivers Michael
Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, who have been spotted using this bike in training
for the next Grand Prix.
There’s also a fitness-oriented model with a lockable
Suntour XCR suspension fork and hydraulic disc brakes, and a rugged trekking
bike equipped with a mudguard, luggage carrier and a Busch & Müller
lighting system. Finally, the kids’ bike is a virtual transformer, capable of
being quickly converted from a 16“ bicycle into a straddler.
