Singaporean and regional readers might want to look out for Paula Abdul’s stint as a judge on the upcoming US edition of the reality singing competition X Factor, as she might just be sporting a cheongsam made in Singapore.

The pop star, perhaps best known for being a judge on the hugely popular American Idol, was in town recently for the grand opening of Universal Studios Singapore when she spotted hostess and MTV VJ’s Denise Keller’s burgundy gown. According to local news reports, Paula Abdul went up to Denise Keller and was said to have remarked, “I could rip this dress right off you”. When told it was from local label Renee L Collections, the international superstar promptly arranged a visit to the boutique, much to the delight of designer Renee Leung.

Renee Leung is said to have designed a selection of dresses for the 48 year old entertainer, and will be flying to Hollywood for fittings.
