The first show villa has been completed on Song Saa Private Island, offering a glimpse of what looks set to be Cambodia’s most promising and luxurious holiday destinations yet.
Rory Hunter, CEO of Brocon, the company behind the development, said: ‘We are pleased to see the project’s steady progress. The completion of the first one-bedroom jungle villa marks a key milestone for Song Saa and illustrates the quality of development that we aim to achieve at the resort.’
Song Saa is being built on Koh Ouen and Koh Bong in Cambodia’s Koh Rong Archipelago. Upon completion, the resort will feature 25 rainforest, beach and over-water villas, each featuring its own private pool.
The resort’s decor was inspired by traditional Cambodian fishing villages and features thatch roofs and furnishings made of rough-hewn natural timbers and drift wood. An over-water restaurant and lounge will reside at the heart of the resort. Elsewhere, pampered travelers can unwind at the luxury facilities on offer, which include an infinity pool, gym, spa and wellness centre and a beachside water sports centre.
The first phase of villas was launched via CB Richard Ellis in late 2009 and sold out within two months to investors from Japan, Norway, UK and France. The subsequent phase of one-bedroom over-water villas was launched in October 2010.
