Riva, the world’s
oldest boat yard, has unfurled the sails of its new 27-foot day-cruiser, the Riva
Iseo. A celebration of the iconic brand’s heritage, the Riva Iseo is geared towards lovers of nautical
design and leisurely boating on lakes and the open sea. New for Summer
2011, the Riva Iseo is a milestone for the celebrated shipping brand due to its
nimble size and design, perfect for an idyllic day of fishing in waters of high
environmental value.
Soft, clean-cut lines, judicious space-planning and careful
attention to detail attest to the Riva Iseo’s august heritage and meticulous
craftsmanship. The extensive use of carefully crafted mahogany throughout the
boat is another beautiful Riva hallmark: skillfully finished with a twenty coat
varnish, ten by brushing and ten by spraying. The Iseo is the first Riva
equipped with a hybrid engine and a Zero Emission Mode cruising option, and is
the first hybrid boat after the launch of Ferretti’s award-winning Mochi Craft 23 Long Range Hybrid in 2008. The Riva Iseo is also the first yacht of its
kind to be rigged with both infotainment and GPS charts built for the Apple iPad
platform. Specifically designed for the Riva Iseo, the exclusive software
includes a number of applications for browsing, including the owner’s manual, viewing the
weather forecast, listening to live stream radio and customized iTunes
playlists on a high quality sound system.
“The new Riva Iseo revives and evolves history,” said
Norberto Ferretti, Chairman of the Ferretti Group. “After the wooden classics
like the Ariston and the Florida,
which made the history of our shipyard in the smaller yacht range, Riva today
has introduced another small yacht that encompasses the values that have made
Riva the legend it is today: meticulous craftsmanship, uniqueness, elegance and
painstaking attention to detail.”
“The new Riva model is a true jewel, a precious gem that we
have carefully and passionately designed,” added Paola Procopio, Riva Brand
Manager. “Our strong commitment to this yacht has resulted in extremely high
demand, already in just a few weeks we have received several orders.”
The standard model is equipped with a Yanmar 6BY2 260 260mhp
engine and a Yanmar 350 duoprop ZT350 stern drive, which allows the yacht to
achieve a top speed of 34 knots. The customized version features a Yanmar
315mhp engine and Yanmar 350 duoprop ZT350 stern drive, providing a top speed
of 37 knots. In the gasoline version, Riva Iseo is equipped with a Mercruiser
8.2 MAG 279kW 380 mph 4800 g/m engine and Mercruiser Bravo Three X stern drive,
providing a top speed of 38 knots. Riva Iseo will also be available in a hybrid
version.
