Whispers recently opened in Hong Kong to stake its place in the city’s much celebrated, fine-dining scene.
Named ‘Whispers’ because of its relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, the restaurant serves casual, up-market lunches and European, fine-dining dinners.
Signature elements include a pizza oven and homemade bread, with everything in the restaurant made from scratch, including the smoked salmon which is smoked on site.
Whispers targets the local business community with set lunches served in 45 minutes focusing on efficiency as well as quality. The dinner menu, meanwhile, is slightly more up-market, offering fusion fine-dining ranging from a full dining experience to a quick one or two course dinner.
The Caesar salad, served with black truffles and a one-hour cooked egg, is fresh and surprisingly light, while the Gyoza tortelloni filled with braised Wagyu beef cheeks and herb glaze is a standout dish.
The cream cheese dome with mixed wild berries is likewise a thing of beauty. The cheesecake itself is enveloped by a white chocolate ball and is complemented by a blueberry sorbet and crumbled, pink meringue.
Whispers also includes a bar which offers happy hour drinks and a comprehensive wine list. You can find the new eatery at: UG/F, On Hing Building, 1 On Hing Terrace, Central.
