Jaeger-LeCoultre, the official partner of the 14^th Shanghai International
Film Festival, was the host of a benefit gala dinner at the
Waldorf Astoria on the Bund. The Swiss watchmaker’s
Night of the Bund benefit gala dinner was lit by the megawatt presence of more
than 200 VIPs, industry elites, and celebs from China and abroad.

A starry
list of film actors and directors, including Susan Sarandon, Matt Dillon, Barry
Levinson and Wang Quan’an, showed up with Jaeger-LeCoultre
watches gracing their wrists. Director Barry Levinson,
Chinese actress Jiang Wenli, Chinese director Wang Quanan also donated movie
set pieces from their careers for the charity auction. Mr. Levinson donated the
original manuscript of Rain Man, the
movie that won Oscar awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and
Best Scriptwriter at the 61^st Academy Award. Ms. Jiang Wenli chose a
manuscript for her debut film as a director, and Mr. Wang Quanan donated one of
his cherished film recorders. These three pieces and a limited edition
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s timepiece attracted high bidding prices, reflecting the
participants’ commitment to the Chinese film industry and public benefit
undertakings.

Commenting
on the historical partnerships between Jaeger-LeCoultre and film festivals, Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO Jérôme Lambert said, “Jaeger-LeCoultre has long-established relations with the
film industry. We have always been committed to supporting and promoting film culture,
and are deeply honoured to become the official partner of SIFF this year. We
will continue to give our support to the Chinese film industry through
sponsorships and public auctions.”
